	Founded in 1908, Sandhurst Silver Band is a contesting band currently competing in the Championship section. Funding comes from a mix of members' subs, payment for engagements and concerts, and grants and donations from firms, councils and individuals. The band is registered charity no. 1086272. Our aims are defined in the band's constitution as "To maintain, improve and advance the education of the public through the promotion and practice of brass band music". This we do by providing facilities for existing players to rehearse and perform for the public, by entering competitions which stimulate players to improve their musical standards, and by offering tuition from the ground up for learners of all ages in the training band.
